Amanda got here safely right before Easter…we traveled back to Zomba the day after she arrived in malawi. we had intentions of joining a group of volunteers hiking Mt. Mulanje on Easter weekend. however, due to a combination of jet-lag, heavy rains, and poor planning, we didn’t quite make it. so we hiked nearby Zomba Plateau instead and were content with that.

we then went down to Blantyre for a night to meet up with the rest of the group (who did hike mulanje). we all toured the Carlsberg Beer factory which was pretty neat actually. reminded me of Laverne & Shirley seeing all the beer bottles in the factory process. too bad none of these youngsters from my group know who Laverne or Shirley actually are. *sigh*

the next day we traveled to another volunteer’s site in Thyolo, famous for its tea fields and estates. they are indescribably beautiful! this area also grows a lot of macademia trees, mmmm!
