when it rains it pours

both in the literal and figurative senses. there was a stretch of 2 weeks or so where it was a constant downpouring. they say this is an unusual weather pattern this year. some say its because of El Nino, that the rains came late and heavy. good news for the crops, sometimes bad news for your wardrobe, shoes, and spirit.
also i’ve just been struggling with a lot of stress these past few weeks. mostly work and a bit of personal stuff. sometimes its just difficult to be here and its frustrating not to have the usual outlets one might have for stress in the US. for example, i can’t take a spin class at the gym or swim a mile in the pool like i used to do. so maybe i’m feeling a little stir crazy on top of it.
but i just wanted to say thanks for all my friends’ support, continue sending your warm fuzzy thoughts this way! i think i mentioned that my very good friend Amanda is coming to visit me at the end of the month! (we went to nursing school together). it’ll be so nice to have a visitor and take a break from “work.” i’m really looking forward to it. altho i’m prepared for the homesick feelings that might come along with her visit and departure.
